Review: When You Let Go
When You Let Go by Unoma Nwankwor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
On the outside, Amara and Ejike Dike seemed to have the perfect marriage but on the inside, the couple deals with the pain of being unable to bear a child to complete their family. Her childlessness causes Amara to question her marriage and her faith. Just when the couple thought God had finally answered their prayers of a baby, a bombshell is dropped into their life. Unfortunately, a very close family member of Amara is a part of the betrayal. With this shocking revelation, things start to spiral downhill in the Dike’s household and the couple is not sure they will be able to recover.
When You Let Go is a true testament of the power of God within ourselves and our marriage. Although, we are tested every day, it is up to us to lean on our faith to get through those difficult times and offer forgiveness to those who may have hurt us in the process. Amara and Ejike’s faith was tested throughout this novel but once they learned to put God at the forefront of their household, they were able to weather the storm.
