Blog Tour: Wounded Love by Phoenix Rayne

Synopsis
It appears that Cricket and Jyme have it all together now. They have a house, serenity, safety…a normal life. But something always seems to take Cricket back to her past…sometimes, her future requires it.

EXCERPT:

The floor was crazy that night; there was a convention in town and it seemed like everybody was in the casino. All of the workers apparently knew what happened between Trey and me; everyone was hugging, squeezing, or smiling a sad smile in my direction. Even Misty, in the cash cage, looked like she had been crying for me. She had held me up at the cash cage talking about how she had a little house down in Florida. She told me that no one knew about it, not even her husband. She hugged me, and I looked away through the cage out at the floor. I was fighting back my tears.

As I did, I saw a man with a black blazer, denim jeans, and a hat. He reminded me so much of Jyme; his copper skin and his height. I squeezed my eyes shut, patted Misty on her back, and told her thanks. I felt like a fuckin’ charity case, and I hated that. I was on my second break for the night and I went back to the suite to freshen up my makeup.

After I finished with my makeup, I shut the front door to the suite and headed for the elevators. I saw two men at the end of the hall dressed in suits. They saw me and froze; I stopped and then I took one step back. They stared at me, and I was staring right back at them. I slid my key out of my purse slowly; one of them saw me and sprinted toward me. He took long quick strides. I unlocked the door and shut it quickly behind me; putting the latch on the door. I ran to my room and slid a chair under the knob so that it would not turn. I yanked the phone off the table and I called security.

Review: The Mad Humper: A Cougar's Candy Tale

The Mad Humper: A Cougar's Candy Tale
The Mad Humper: A Cougar's Candy Tale by Treasure Blue

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Treva Tidwell is a successful woman who has everything a woman can want except her husband is not meeting her sexual needs in the bedroom. Like most women, their marriage started out spicy but as time wore on, the sex became stale. Being frustrated, she learns to take care of herself. Her best friend Dana does not understand what Treva is going through but decides to help her out a little. With that being said, Dana takes Treva out on her birthday for an unforgettable night. Little does Treva knows, that dream night becomes a nightmare and revenge reveals its ugly head. You will not be ready for this surprise ending.

This story is sensual and steamy and the plot leaves you waiting to turn the pages to see what happens next. The characters were well developed but the story had major editing issues. There were times I had to look back as the names or the scenes were confusing. I am giving this book 2.5 stars to deduct the errors in this story. If the above issues in editing are corrected, this could be at least a four star read.

THE STORYTELLERS BOOK TOUR: Minus One (The Drew Smith Series) by Norwood Holland

Prequel to Sleepless Nights - Book 2

Minus One (The Drew Smith Series) by Norwood Holland

"I think Mr. Holland is a remarkable story teller, his knowledge of legal proceedings is on point, and he has a way of making you care about unsavory characters. That takes some skill. If you enjoy legal dramas like The Client and Pelican Brief, you'll love this book! "
Written by Samantha Teal

“This was the first book I've read by the author, but it won't be my last. Norwood Holland 's characters are very well-crafted and pulled me into their tangled web of dramas straightaway. That is especially true of the series' main character, Drew Smith. I laughingly found myself talking to and yelling at him. That alone speaks to the author's remarkable storytelling and mystery-weaving ability, with his legal background shining through. It has lots of twists and turns, with an emotional and satisfying ending.”
Written by Edwina Putney (Amazon Reviewer)

Minus One is the prequel to The Drew Smith Series.
Back to the beginning of Drew Smith's legal career this is a retrospective narrative of the attorney’s first case. The recent law school graduate awaiting his bar exam results Drew Smith takes a job as a Concierge in a 5 star hotel, and befriends two bellmen an Arab and a Latino, Medhat, and Julio. Medhat is a spoiled brat estranged from his wealthy father with a penchant for partying, cocaine, prostitutes and barroom brawls. Julio is a smart high school dropout and a former street gang member.

The son of peasant Nicaraguan immigrants he is forced to become the head of household when his father is killed in a construction accident leaving his mother and five siblings without a provider. This eclectic trio form a solid friendship put to the test when Medhat in his overindulgence runs up a drug tab he can't pay. Kidnapped and rescued by Drew and Julio, Medhat becomes a prime suspect when the drug lord is found dead.

All three cope with romantic entanglements. Drew is captivated with the pretty Latina, Nina whose father objects to her dating a Black man. Julio falls head over heels and knocks up Chevy, a lovely Filipina. Medhat has a passion for blondes and night club owner Carol fits the mold perfectly.

Life takes a turn when Drew becomes a member of the bar. Medhat is caught red handed and charged with murder. Drew and Julio sleuth to uncover the real killer. Minus One captures Drew Smith's evolution from youthful indiscretion to a professional burdened with the seriousness of purpose.

Is Anybody's Daughter Ever Safe?

Based on the real-life horrors faced by thousands of girls, award-winning author Pamela Samuels Young takes readers deep inside the disturbing world of child sex trafficking in a fast-paced thriller that educates as much as it entertains.

Thirteen-year-old Brianna Walker is ecstatic. She's about to sneak off to meet her first real boyfriend—a boyfriend she met on Facebook. But Brianna is in for a horrifying surprise because her boyfriend doesn't exist. Instead, Brianna unwittingly becomes the captive of a ring of drug dealers- turned-human traffickers who prey on lonely girls from dysfunctional homes. But they’ve made a big mistake in targeting Brianna because she doesn’t meet either of those criteria.

Brianna’s Uncle Dre, a man with his own criminal past, is determined to find the niece who is more like a daughter to him. Rather than sit back and rely on police to bring Brianna home, Dre scours the dark corners of Los Angeles looking for her. He is stunned to learn that the trafficking of children isn’t just happening in other countries. It’s occurring at epidemic levels right in his own backyard.

Dre is not alone in his desperate search. Loretha Johnson knows this world well. A social worker who previously lived “the life,” Loretha now dedicates her time to saving as many young girls as she can find. She turns out to be an invaluable resource for Dre, who ultimately gets a lead on The Shepherd, a mastermind in the trafficking world whose every move is fueled by ego and greed. Dre vows to bring The Shepherd's reign of terror to an end, even if he has to break the law to do it.

While Brianna makes a futile effort to thwart her captors, Dre is getting closer and closer to finding her. The woman he loves, attorney Angela Evans, knows the dangers faced by sexually exploited children because she represents them in juvenile court. Angela lends her moral support and, eventually, an important clue to Brianna’s whereabouts.

As he races against the clock, Dre ultimately comes up with a daring plan—one that puts many lives in danger, including his own. But will he find Brianna before it's too late?

WAKE UP!

"The fact is human trafficking is happening right here, right now, in the United States, probably in any city where anybody lives. Just because you don’t know anything about it doesn’t mean it’s not happening." - Vicki Zito, Mother of SurvivorAccording to the United Nations, human trafficking is defined as:
Recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation

Modern Day Slavery:
Human trafficking is also known as modern day slavery. Human trafficking deviates from our historic view of slavery, making it hard to conceptualize. But ultimately, slavery today and 200 years ago share the same notion: It’s the notion that one person’s life, liberty and fortune can be under the absolute control of another, and be sold, bought, or used at the will of the owner.

THE STORYTELLERS BOOK TOUR: Unbreakable: A Novel by William Fredrick Cooper

From the critically acclaimed author of Six Days in January and There’s Always a Reason, this eagerly anticipated novel follows one man’s emotional journey to find love and triumph over despair.

It’s Valentine’s Day; seven years ago, William McCall lost Linda Woodson—the woman who restored his faith and hope. Still grieving her death, he drowns his sorrows at a local bar in Manhattan, when a new woman enters his life…

Keisha Gray is a Michigan schoolteacher visiting the Big Apple, and when she first meets William, they bond over their shared love for Michael Jackson. Soon they connect over much more and set out on a journey to heal their broken pasts. William is still trying to get over his heartbreak, while Keisha is on a journey to rediscover her self-worth after the double murder of her parents. The couple travels through New York, South Carolina, and Michigan to sort through their pasts and renew their faith in God, life, and love.

Highly emotional and embedded with powerful messages, Unbreakable is a love ballad that explores adversity, human connection, and what it takes to heal a broken heart.

Unbreakable: A Novel

EXCERPT FROM UNBREAKABLE

(Inspired by the song 'Unbreakable' by Michael Jackson...) In 2001, Michael Jackson and Sony Records disagreed over the first commercial single released from the album ‘Invincible’. Vehemently stating his case, ‘The King of Pop’ desperately wanted the song ‘Unbreakable’ to be heard initially; instead, Sony chose to drop ‘You Rock My World’. Because of contractual disputes which killed the promotional push on the album, the dynamic standout was never released as a single. Well, it never got released, but… Delivering a high-voltage jolt to my soul, I am introducng my new book with a statement of transparency with the hopes that it helps someone handle life a little better than I have. Please follow me on this one…

PICTURE THIS: We’re in Miami, Florida, and the Hit Factory recording studio is rocking a Michael Jackson track produced by hit maker Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins. Reeling you in, its piano-driven hook and relentless R&B-meets-gospel sound thumped.

Stomping out negativity and placing perseverance into your soul, the message in the music was blunt: Do not let anything or anyone steal your joy.

The jam, "Unbreakable", (featuring The Notorious B.I.G. with background vocals by Brandy) was an infectious groove that had everyone in the studio dancing. Everyone, that is, except Author William Fredrick Cooper.

Somber from news he received hours earlier - a disturbing bulletin that likened him to a used car salesman - the melody was muted by tears in his eyes.

After everything that’s happened in his life, he was baffled.

Should he allow cemetery dirt to be thrown on him by way of insults and assumptions, or finally respond after years of quiet?

Imagining that the Gloved One and Biggie Smalls were on the other side of the room, he thought of the advice they might offer.

"Say something, but do it with L-O-V-E," the King of Pop stated.

Christopher Wallace agreed, sneering, "Let your haters motivate you to spit something sweet."

Taking a hand towel from his back pocket, the writer blew his nose.

"Man, I made mistakes in life just like anyone else, but people piled onto my errors and took advantage of my honesty. Some of that’s my fault, because I always looked for approval from others instead of relying on my inner strength. Others not used to my deep emotions think I’m a pity-seeking martyr, which is totally off-base.”

Biggie answered, “Tell them where to go, how to get there and make em’ kiss your ass before walking.”

Battling laughter along with everyone in the studio, MJ reiterated his insight.

“That’s not you, William. You have a beautiful heart no one understands. Again, if you say anything do it with love, man.”

Sighing, the perplexed writer said, "I gotta toughen up and remember that they talked about Jesus..."

Suddenly, the light bulb that comes with a breakthrough came on.

Feeling a surge of energy, the novelist identified with what LeBron James might have felt on June 7th, 2012. With his Miami Heat on the brink of elimination -they were down 3 games to 2 in the Eastern Conference Finals - media pundits all around the globe ready to bury him forever, the organization ready to break up his team and everything he worked for hanging in the balance, he realized this was his defining moment in his life, his last chance to man up.

Then with a focused, fearless stare he torched the Celtics and Boston Garden for 45 (points) 15 (rebounds) and 5 (assists).

He's now a two-time NBA CHAMPION, but that was the night LeBron James became who God created him to be, a King.

“Can I borrow your gift for a tick, MJ? I won’t moonwalk away with it, man,” William persuaded.

Beaming, Michael Jackson knew what was about to happen.

Holding his hand for a tick, he said, “Make it funky!”

The beleaguered author wasn’t done.

“Biggie, I’m gonna need yours, too.”

Clearly perturbed, Hip-Hop’s greatest storyteller on wax had an announcement.

“You better bring it, or there’s gonna be a lot of…”

“Neck wringin’ and fist swingin’, if my words aren’t particularly stingin’… Chill, brother, I got this,” William said.

Begrudgingly, the charcoal-skinned wordsmith stepped to the scribe. Removing his screw-face, he too tapped the three-time author and warned, “C-4 to your door, Coop.”

“Biggie… I get it.”

Stepping to the mic in the sound room, knowing this was an absolute moment of truth, the determined glare in his eyes spoke words his mouth didn’t say.

Heavenly Father, I know this is my last shot. I’ll do my best and leave the end result in Your hands.

Shouting to the mastermind to so many jams for Mary Mary, Toni Braxton, the late Whitney Houston and others, "Rodney," he screamed.

A booming "Yo," response came from the control room.

"Can you play the “Unbreakable” instrumental? In my own words I want to let something fly."

"You got it!"

“And could you play it loud?”

“Punishing loud, Coop?”

“No, pulverizing loud. I want the message to be clear.”

“No doubt.”

Darkchild, I hope they’re ready for this…

Blowing out the speakers, bluntness with a bangin’ beat returned to the room.

Accompanying the deep rhythm was a man with an edge. Entering a zone that comes with a renewing of mind, perhaps all the gobbledygook - being told he’s ‘an author in title only’ that ‘cries too much’, the “My Space Wag Attack” that nearly shattered his spirit; being called “phony”, “pretentious” and worse names when perceiving his passion for love, life and the empowerment of black literature as arrogance; all the mistakes trusting people with selfish agendas; the “weak,” and “gay” labels by those unfamiliar with Black Male sensitivity; the outlandish investigations and crazy job dismissals because of writing, losing all he owned not once but twice, the failed attempts at love in all the wrong places while letting the right ones get away; all those nights sleeping on office floors daring to dream and in a prostitute/drug infested rooming house after a devastating breakup, all those toilets cleaned fighting to keep his dreams alive; the four life-threatening situations with a knife-wielding man battling demons…

Perhaps all the gobbledygook in that crazy bowl of life led to this. Rising from the ashes, he had a powerful word for all those who counted him out: the runaway train was on new tracks, coming through the station hard. Perfectly fitting this fresh swag, someone turned the flame up on the stove and the silence simmering so long in stainless steel stillness finally boiled over. Bobbing his head, years of restraint was the detonation, and in staccato rhythm he set off an explosion that left everyone in the studio wide-eyed.

BLOG TOUR STOP: The Secrets They Kept by Charmaine Galloway

Tell us about Charmaine, who is the lady behind the books
I am a mother of two and I enjoy meeting other people that share the same goals and ideas I have. I love writing reality based stories about impacted people.

What inspired you to write your first book?
My first book is my poetry book and I was inspired to write that book from the events in my life.

What do you wish more people knew about the publishing side of things?
It’s not easy but it’s very rewarding. Inspiring authors need to find an editor that they can trust. They need to know that when the book is published that’s when the real work begins. They have to promote so people to know about their work. There are a lot of steps to take to put out a book, you have to do your research and find what best works for you.

How did you come up with your titles?
The idea and then the story pops in to my mind first and then the title.

What author(s) has influenced your writing style?
Victoria Christopher Murray and Kimberly Roby Lawson

What is the hardest part about writing?
I have not had writers block yet. The hardest part for me is revising the story before it goes to the editor.

How important was a "platform" in selling your books?
I make my own platform because with no platform you can’t meet the readers. Every chance I get I am in someone’s ear talking about my books. I’m a self-published author so I am the only one that will set my platform for my work.

What are your hobbies?
I like reading, writing, making jewelry and traveling with my two children.

Can you tell us about your upcoming project(s)?
My 3rd novel called The Secrets they Kept, was released on 2/8/14 and my next release will be called Tyree’s Love Triangle and that will be released in the summer 2014. I also have a short story called Jordan’s Confession  that will be released this year also.

What advice do you have to an aspiring author?

Research and study your craft. When you are looking for an editor check out their previous work before you hire them to do a job for you. It you have a story don’t let anyone change your mind about what you want to share with the world.

MORE ON THE AUTHOR:
Charmaine Galloway was born and currently resides in Toledo, Ohio with her two children. Writing has been her passion and a positive emotional outlet since middle school. As a teen, writing in her journal allowed her to escape from the negativity of her world. Around that time she also began writing her debut poetry book.
Charmaine has a Bachelor of Arts in Family Life Education and an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree.
Charmaine has been a guest on many Blog Talk Radio shows and a featured author in SORMAG’s Digital, Urban Image BlaqRayn, and Literary Lounge magazines. She is also the administrator of Writers with Style, a Toledo local author group on Facebook.
Titles by Charmaine includes: My World, Through My Eyes, a poetry book. Girlfriends Secrets and Golden are both Amazon Bestselling novels. Heaven’s Cry: a short story. Girl Talk: a poetry book for teen girls. I love Myself As I Am: a children’s book.
Ms. Galloway is passionate about writing reality based stories about imperfect people. “As a new author I think it is very important that my readers get to know me. I'm a writer with Christian values and I hope to inspire people with the stories that I pen. My characters are everyday people going through struggles and obstacles because life is not perfect. Every story does not have a “happily ever after” ending and neither does real life.”

SYNOPSIS:

Synopsis
Kidnapped. Taken to a private island.

I never thought this could happen to me. I never imagined one chance meeting on the eve of my eighteenth birthday could change my life so completely.

Now I belong to him. To Julian. To a man who is as ruthless as he is beautiful – a man whose touch makes me burn. A man whose tenderness I find more devastating than his cruelty.

My captor is an enigma. I don’t know who he is or why he took me. There is a darkness inside him – a darkness that scares me even as it draws me in.

My name is Nora Leston, and this is my story.

WARNING: This is NOT a traditional romance. It contains disturbing subject matter, including themes of questionable consent and Stockholm Syndrome, as well as graphic sexual content. This is a work of fiction intended for a mature, 18+ audience only. The author neither endorses nor condones this type of behavior.

Excerpt
It’s evening now. With every minute that passes, I’m starting to get more and more anxious at the thought of seeing my captor again.

The novel that I’ve been reading can no longer hold my interest. I put it down and walk in circles around the room.

I am dressed in the clothes Beth had given me earlier. It’s not what I would’ve chosen to wear, but it’s better than a bathrobe. A sexy pair of white lacy panties and a matching bra for underwear. A pretty blue sundress that buttons in the front. Everything fits me suspiciously well. Has he been stalking me for a while? Learning everything about me, including my clothing size?

The thought makes me sick.

I am trying not to think about what’s to come, but it’s impossible. I don’t know why I’m so sure he’ll come to me tonight. It’s possible he has an entire harem of women stashed away on this island, and he visits each one only once a week, like sultans used to do.

Yet somehow I know he’ll be here soon. Last night had simply whetted his appetite. I know he’s not done with me, not by a long shot.

Finally, the door opens.

He walks in like he owns the place. Which, of course, he does.

I am again struck by his masculine beauty. He could’ve been a model or a movie star, with a face like his. If there was any fairness in the world, he would’ve been short or had some other imperfection to offset that face.

But he doesn’t. His body is tall and muscular, perfectly proportioned. I remember what it feels like to have him inside me, and I feel an unwelcome jolt of arousal.

He’s again wearing jeans and a T-shirt. A grey one this time. He seems to favor simple clothing, and he’s smart to do so. His looks don’t need any enhancement.

He smiles at me. It’s his fallen angel smile—dark and seductive at the same time. “Hello, Nora.”

I don’t know what to say to him, so I blurt out the first thing that pops into my head. “How long are you going to keep me here?”

He cocks his head slightly to the side. “Here in the room? Or on the island?”

“Both.”

“Beth will show you around tomorrow, take you swimming, if you’d like,” he says, approaching me. “You won’t be locked in, unless you do something foolish.”

“Such as?” I ask, my heart pounding in my chest as he stops next to me and lifts his hand to stroke my hair.

“Trying to harm Beth or yourself.” His voice is soft, his gaze hypnotic as he looks down on me. The way he’s touching my hair is oddly relaxing.

I blink, trying to break his spell. “And what about on the island? How long will you keep me here?”

His hand caresses my face now, curves around my cheek. I catch myself leaning into his touch, like a cat getting petted, and I immediately stiffen.

His lips curve into a knowing smile. The bastard knows the effect he has on me. “A long time, I hope,” he says.

For some reason, I’m not surprised. He wouldn’t have bothered bringing me all the way here if he just wanted to fuck me a few times. I’m terrified, but I’m not surprised.

I gather my courage and ask the next logical question. “Why did you kidnap me?”

The smile leaves his face. He doesn’t answer, just looks at me with an inscrutable blue gaze.

I begin to shake. “Are you going to kill me?”

“No, Nora, I won’t kill you.”

His denial reassures me, although he could obviously be lying. “Are you going to sell me?” I can barely get the words out. “Like to be a prostitute or something?”

“No,” he says softly. “Never. You’re mine and mine alone.”

I feel a tiny bit calmer, but there is one more thing I have to know. “Are you going to hurt me?”

For a moment, he doesn’t answer again. Something dark briefly flashes in his eyes. “Probably,” he says quietly.

And then he leans down and kisses me, his warm lips soft and gentle on mine.

For a second, I stand there frozen, unresponsive. I believe him. I know he’s telling the truth when he says he’ll hurt me. There’s something in him that scares me—that has scared me from the very beginning.

He’s nothing like the boys I’ve gone on dates with. He’s capable of anything.

And I’m completely at his mercy.

I think about trying to fight him again. That would be the normal thing to do in my situation. The brave thing to do.

And yet I don’t do it.

I can feel the darkness inside him. There’s something wrong with him. His outer beauty hides something monstrous underneath.

I don’t want to unleash that darkness. I don’t know what will happen if I do.

So I stand still in his embrace and let him kiss me. And when he picks me up again and takes me to bed, I don’t try to resist in any way.

Instead, I close my eyes and give in to the sensations.

BLOG TOUR: The Way Love Is by Vy Antenette

Can you tell us about yourself.
I am a mother, wife, and author who works full time as a government employee serving the elderly and vulnerable populations. I consider myself to be fun, outgoing, out spoken, down to earth, honest and real. I say what's on my mind and how I feel but I do it in a tactful manner. I enjoy reading, socializing and spending time with my family and friends

What inspired you to write your first book?
More like "who" inspired me to write, was a friend of the family who heard me speaking at my uncle's funeral. At the end, she came up to me and said 'you should write." She told me that my voice and choice of words were captivating and that I could reach many through a book, so I tried. My very first book was supposed to be an autobiography about how I came to be despite the hardships I faced as a child. However, I wasn't fully ready to share certain aspects of my life, so I created Chaianne, who is loosely based on me and gave her a story of her own.

What do you wish more people knew about the publishing side of things?
Well, my experience with going with a publisher was exactly what I wanted/needed and that was to help me get my manuscript into print. But I would have to say with the right connections and proper research and depending on one's needs, it may be something that they can pursue themselves.

How did you come up with your titles?
Honestly, I don't remember how I came up with the title for The Way Love Is (lol) but I do remember having this title chosen ahead of time. I think because it didn't bother me, I kept it. But for my second book, Awaiting A Love Like This, that took forever to finalize and deep inside, I'm still not sure if that's the one I will go with. Be on the look out to see if I ditched it or kept it! (smile)

What author(s) has influenced your writing style?
I can't say that one author in particular influenced my writing style per se. I write like I talk (to an extent) and write what I like to read. I like to say that if Wahida Clark and E.L. James birthed a book, it would be my stories, especially the second one. I am not fond of street lit and I prefer my characters to be a little more "urban" than James' so I created them in my image; educated, driven, street smart and down to earth!

For your first book, how hard was it to find a publisher?  What was your journey like in signing with Gemini Phoenix Publications?
It wasn't hard at all! In fact a coworker of mine had read a book by Dyphia Blunt aka Gemini Phoenix and through being friends on FB found out that she was looking to create a publishing company. I connected with Dyphia, we spoke and here we are. My experience so far has been great. She's knowledgeable, fair, and helpful and I couldn't ask for anything more than that!

How important was a "platform" in selling your books?
Honestly, I didn't expect for people outside of my friends and family to read my book(s). But when people heard that I had written one or was in the process of publishing one, others outside that were interested in reading as well. So I guess, the platform itself was created once word of mouth spread and I began receiving FB messages from people I never talked too who heard about my book and wanted to know where or how to get a copy.

What are your hobbies?
As mentioned before, I enjoy reading, writing poetry, hanging with my family and friends, and doing new things. I can't even say writing is a hobby, it's more like a blessing and I am really excited to see how many people I can reach through this literary gift.

Can you tell us about your upcoming project(s)?
Yes, right now I am in the process of finalizing my manuscript for my second book, Awaiting A Love Like This (working title) and will soon be fine tuning my third completed manuscript, Love Don't Live Here Anymore; book three of the Love Collection.

What advice do you have to an aspiring author?
My advise to an aspiring author would be to just do it! If that's your passion, gift, blessing, desire or whatever, then go for it. Learn as much as you can about the arena, hire a professional and experienced editor and follow your hearts desire. Write because you have a story to tell and want to share it with others, NOT because you trying to secure a hustle. Other than that, best wishes and much success. XOXO, Vy Antenette

More about the author
Vy Antenette was born, raised and still resides in Albany, NY and is a graduate from the College of St. Rose and South University. She is married to the love of her life and the mother of three beautiful children. Vy is the oldest of eleven and comes from a very close knit and supportive family, with her (maternal) grandparents being extremely influential in her life.

It was never her lifelong dream to become a writer let alone an author but she has always had a way with words. After speaking at a funeral someone came up to her and said “you should write!” so she did. At first, the process was difficult as she had a hard time making the story flow, so she stopped. Five years later in May 2012 she decided to write again and by the end of that year she had penned four complete manuscripts. Her first novel, The Way Love Is hit the market in June of 2013. Her second novel is due to be released late Fall or early Winter of this year.

With red being her favorite color, hearts her favorite shape and Valentine’s Day her favorite occasion, she found it almost destined that all her novels would reflect love in some way. Labeling herself as the “Queen of Hearts,” she hopes that all who read novels from the Love Collection will become lifelong admirers. Although Vy is not sure how far her talents will take her she is pleased with the direction in which her literary talents are heading and is eager to continue writing. “Like a bottle of fine wine…writing gets better with time.”
