BLOG FEATURE: Trice Hickman

Welcome Author Trice Hickman to our blog. The readers look forward to getting to know you.

What keeps Trice Hickman motivated
My motivation comes from my faith. I absolutely and unequivocally believe that God always gives us what we need, when we need it. When I feel low, or I need inspiration I pray, and I get the answers and solution to whatever is challenging me.

What was your inspiration behind your latest book because those characters are "interesting" to say the least?
The inspiration behind Secret Indiscretions to write a different kind of book from the ones I usually pen. I wanted to write a story that was a little edgier, and to do that I had to create larger than life characters, some of whom readers will love to hate. It was quite fun!

Describe Geneva Mayfield in 2 sentences.
Geneva Mayfield is beautiful woman from the inside out who hopes for the best and believes in love. She’s a neglected woman who finds her voice and learns how to reclaim the happiness she deserves.

What would you consider your greatest accomplishment?
Wow, that’s a very good question. I’m not sure I can say that I’ve had a “greatest” accomplishment because I still have so much work to do. But if I had to name something I’m proud of, it would be that I pursued my dream of writing a novel, and achieved it! I suffered from writer’s block for nearly two decades before I wrote my first book, so this is huge for me!

Do you have a philosophy by which you live?
Yes, my philosophy is, “You can never go wrong doing right.” I apply this to everything I do.

What, in your opinion, is an important element to writing a great story?
very writer is different, and there are various techniques we use. I write character driven stories, and for me the most important element to writing a great story is to listen to my characters and follow their lead. When you listen to your characters they will always lead you down the right path.

What's your views on social media for marketing?
I believe social media has helped authors promote more effectively. You can reach a broad audience without leaving your house, and the fact that it’s free is a huge plus. I also think that good ol’ fashioned word of mouth helps a lot, too.

How hard is it to establish and maintain a career in fictional writing?
Establishing and maintaining a successful career as a fiction writer, or any kind of book writer, is challenging. You have to really love this to do it. The literary market is very saturated, which makes it challenging to penetrate and establish a name for yourself. The key is to not get frustrated or give up.

Can you tell us about your upcoming project(s)?
I just completed copyedits for Deadly Satisfaction, is the sequel to Secret Indiscretions. I’m also working on my next book, and revamping my website (tricehickman.com) and my blog (fabuloussouthernbelle.blogspot.com).

Book Excerpt from Secret Indescretions

I wish I could have taken a picture of the look on Johnny’s face when I pulled out my gun and aimed it between his eyes. But then again, I didn’t need a picture because that sweet memory will be etched on my brain for the rest of my life. And besides, a photograph would be evidence, and after the time and effort I put into planning this son of a bitch’s murder, the last thing I need on my phone is a picture of a dead man.
Usually when someone shows up at a person’s doorstep late at night, a booty call is more than likely on the agenda. But because there’s no way in hell that was the case between us, Johnny knew right away that this visit wasn’t going to end well. I was actually surprised that he opened the door once he realized that it was me standing there, but then again, too much alcohol can make a person do things they normally wouldn’t. He smelled of liquor and he could barely keep his balance.
“What’re you doing here?” he asked, slurring his words.
They say that the eyes are the window to the soul, and I believe that to be true. From the moment we looked into each other’s eyes, Johnny knew that I came here tonight to kill him.
We stared at each other for what felt like a long time, but was only a brief minute. His eyes said he was sorry for what he’d done to me, and to a host of other people, too. But my eyes told him that I didn’t give a damn about his remorse, and after what happened a week ago today, he had to have known that he was going to have to pay for his sins. I guess that’s why he opened the door for me in the first place.
He quickly sobered up when I pointed my gun between his eyes, and that’s when he allowed the reality of what was about to happen to sink in. He didn’t put up resistance. He didn’t fight. And he didn’t plead for his life. He did none of the things I thought he would do, and I was glad because that made my job easier. The bastard actually helped me by taking a few steps back into the kitchen, eliminating the need for me to drag his body out of plain sight once I did what I came to do.

“So I guess you’re my knight in shining armor coming to rescue the damsel in distress…”

The tone of her voice was not lost on him. There was an edge in it he didn’t like.

She continued, “How many of us have there been over the years?”

“What?” He stared down at her.

She sat up straight and scooted away from him. She stared at him. “How many of us have there been?

Six years…let’s see…yeah, I remember the three-month rule, so what is that, twenty-four?”

“You want to do this? Now?” His forehead creased in confusion. What had he said? How could she go from sweet one minute to this the next?

“We might as well. All this pretending we’re all good is making my stomach sick.”

He sighed. He wasn’t going to take the bait. Besides, she really didn’t want the answer. She just wanted to find a way to not let him into her heart.

“Answer me. How many?”

“No.”

“No?”

“N-O. No.”

When it comes to love, all deals are off!

Blake Farrington knows exactly who to call when he finds himself needing crisis management. Yes,

this task is outside Eunice Howard’s usual realm of responsibilities, but he’s willing to make it worth

her time. Plus, she’s ideal for the role. Who better to play his pretend lover than the one woman who

knows him almost better than he knows himself?

The last thing Eunice Howard expects when summoned to her boss’s office is a request to play the

role of his new love interest to appease his mother, restless to marry him off. Foolishly agreeing, she

ventures with him to Farrington Estates for the Thanksgiving holiday. She thought she’d seen all

sides of Blake Farrington, but the man who emerges is a man she could easily love.

Their agreement blossoms into a connection neither expected—nor are willing to admit. When the

lines between make-believe and reality blur, something phenomenal occurs.

excerpt

The second they rounded the corner, Eunice snatched her hand away. “What the hell was that?” she

asked in a whisper.

“What?” He wasn’t truly that clueless, but played so.

She released a heavy sigh and hiked up the stairs. Inside the bedroom, he was on her heels—right

until the moment she stormed into the bathroom and slammed the door in his face.

Blake leaned against the door jamb. “Are you upset?”

“Yes. No. I mean—” She cursed under her breath.

He couldn’t understand why she’d gotten so distressed. Okay, maybe he’d gone a little overboard,

but…Eunice continued. “I don’t know. Did you—”

She yelped once the door slung open and he was standing there. He flashed one of his award-winning

smiles in hopes of lightening the mood. She pushed him out of the way and moved toward the bed.

Her hair was pulled into a high ponytail, and she wore a simple white nightgown shirt. It was sexy as

hell.

“Did you have to take it that far?” she said.

“We’re supposed to be a believable couple, right?” She narrowed her eyes at him. Had she been a

bull, he had a feeling this was the moment she would have charged. “I’m sorry. I didn’t realize my

words would affect you so…deeply. They were pretty poetic, huh?”

Eunice snatched a pillow from the bed and hurled it at him. What was with him and women with

pillows?

“Enjoy the floor, Mr. Poetic.”

Blake barked a laugh.

Eunice climbed in bed.

He sobered.

She pulled the covers to her chin.

Blake pulled his hands to his waist. “Eunice?” When she didn’t answer, he rested his hand on the

back of his neck. “Come on. You can’t be serious. You’re really making me sleep on the floor?”

“Goodnight, Prat. Sweet dreams.”

There was a hint of laughter in her tone. Frankly, he didn’t find anything funny. “Seriously, that bed

is the size of a small island.”

“In that case, you should feel privileged. You have the entire ocean to yourself.”

Every damn body is a comedian in this house. “Okay. I’ll remember this.” This time, humor played

in his tone. “See if you get a Christmas bonus.” He escaped into the bathroom, did his before bed

rituals, then returned and made a pallet on the floor. Using the remote, he shut off the lights, then

attempted to find a comfortable position.

“Blake?”

Ah-ha. I knew she’d feel sorry for me. “Mmm-hmm,” he hummed.

“Your story… This is going to sound strange, but it actually happened to me in Central Park. Weird,

huh?”

Not weird at all. Unlike her story, his had been steeped in truth. All except for the approaching her

part.

Unbeknownst to Eunice, he’d seen her in the park doing exactly what he’d stated. He’d also wanted

to ask her out. But before he could, he discovered she’d recently started working for his company.

Imagine his surprise when they’d bumped into each other at the annual Spring Fling he threw for his

staff.

“Huh. Yeah. That is weird.”

Determined to uncover the truth behind her father’s secret life, Christine heads to Magdalena, prepared to hate the people who have caused her to question everything she thought she knew about her father. A-Family-Affair-Spring-2014-3MB-199x300
A Family Affair: Spring Book 2
A Family Affair: Spring is a story of betrayal, forgiveness, and redemption, all wrapped up in the lives of the people we love to love, and even a few we love to hate.

Harry Blacksworth is rich, handsome, the ultimate playboy with a killer smile and a clever wit. He’s fought it, denied it, ignored it, but the damn truth won’t go away: he’s fallen in love. And just when he’s accepted that fact, Greta Severenson, the only woman he’s ever trusted, breaks his heart.

Christine Blacksworth and Nate Desantro beat the odds when they fell in love and married. But staying married is threatened when the foundation behind every good relationship—trust—is challenged.

Gloria Blacksworth descends upon Magdalena in all of her designer-clad arrogance, determined to make Christine change her course and return to Chicago and her old life. It may take two trips to that godforsaken town or ten, but Gloria doesn’t plan to fail. When she finally confronts Miriam Desantro, the “other woman”, Gloria discovers more than she ever wanted to know… or admit.

Angelo ‘Pop’ Benito is the Godfather of Magdalena. Nothing happens in that town without his knowledge or approval. And Pop doesn’t do anything without a long sit down with his dead wife, Lucy, and a half dozen pizzelles by his side. He’ll need a lot of lung power and a tray of his favorite treat to help Nate and Christine out of a real mess. And he may need the help of his checkers buddy and Magdalena’s shining star, Lily Desantro.

A Family Affair: Summer Book 3
Heartache. Betrayal. Forgiveness. Redemption…
It’s time to head back to Magdalena, New York and spend a little time with the people we love to love and even a few we love to hate.

Eight years ago, tragedy struck the town’s perfect couple, Daniel “Cash” Casherdon and Tess Carrick, days before their wedding. That tragedy shred their dreams of a life together and sent them fleeing Magdalena. Now, destiny has brought them back and the town is determined to see this couple mend their differences.

Angelo “Pop” Benito will lead the crusade to march Cash and Tess down the aisle with the help of The Bleeding Hearts Society, a garden group more interested in healing people’s hearts than helping a sick basil plant. But they’re not the only ones cheering for this couple’s second chance.

Who would have thought Nate Desantro would be giving advice on relationships, love, and marriage? But when a man finds the right woman, anything is possible. Add a baby to the mix; well that’s pure “hero” material. Christine will offer her share of support and wisdom to Tess and stand up to an old troublemaker in the name of family and friendship.

From the fifty-something widow who is afraid to open her heart again to the pregnant friend who believes everyone has a soul mate, to Lily Desantro, the shining light who makes others believe anything is possible, Magdalena’s finest will rally to give Tess and Cash that second chance. But all the prayers and contrivances in the world won’t help until Tess reveals the secret she’s carried for too many years, a secret that could destroy her chance with Cash forever…

And if you’re wondering about Harry Blacksworth and his brood, you’ll glimpse a snippet of what he’s up to, but he’ll be back in full force in A Family Affair: Fall. Not only that—he’s moving to Magdalena with Greta and the kids! Can you imagine Harry maneuvering a lawnmower or carrying out the trash? Oh, but his past is going to catch up with him and then…Sorry, Harry has to wait for A Family Affair: Fall to share his misery and his story.

For now, enjoy the journey as you catch up on the lives of the residents of Magdalena. They’re waiting for you!

A-Family-Affair-Fall-1600-199x300
A Family Affair: Fall Book 4

Gina Servetti was raised to believe she wasn’t enough—not thin enough, not pretty enough, not
clever enough. She’s more comfortable with a spreadsheet than a conversation and doesn’t trust easily, especially where men are concerned, most notably the good-looking, smooth-talking ones like Ben Reed.

When city boy Ben Reed arrives in Magdalena, he’s not planning a long-term stay in a town filled with too many busybodies and too little excitement. He just needs things to settle down in Philly for a few months before he returns to his old life and his plan to win back his ex-wife. But once he gets to know the people in this town, he starts to care about them; one in particular—Gina Servetti. The longer he’s around her, the more he realizes she’s so much more than a woman with a scowl and a sharp tongue. She’s real and honest, and as afraid of trusting as he is.

But can Ben and Gina open up and take a risk for a chance at real love? Well, if the rest of the town has anything to say about it, and they always do, this couple will take the big leap and end with an “I do”!

And would the story be complete without checking in on Harry Blacksworth’s latest debacle…ahem…adventure? Harry’s moved his brood to Magdalena and is taking advice but thankfully not fashion lessons from Pop Benito. That spells trouble on so many levels. Oh, but it’s going to be interesting…

Join me as we peek into the lives of some of our favorites: Pop Benito, Lily, Nate and Christine Desantro, Harry and Greta Blacksworth, Mimi Pendergrass, Bree Kinkaid…and many more.

A Family Affair: Christmas Book 5
The town is preparing to celebrate the holidays when a snowstorm hits and threatens to ruin the festivities. But that’s not the only threat blowing into town…Pop’s son is here from California to enjoy Christmas with his father, but when he leaves, he’s taking Pop with him…or is he? Will the town give up the Godfather of Magdalena, or will they show Pop’s son that when we open our hearts, anything is possible…even second chances?

NEW FEATURE: Magdalena’s growing! People are getting married, having babies, and moving back to town, so I’ve decided to include a list of characters and their backgrounds–some new faces, some from previous books. A Family Affair: Winter Book 6
They should have been married and working on their “happily ever after” but fate intervened and stole their chance. Can the residents of Magdalena help them get it back?

On the day Michael Androvich stands at the altar before family, friends, and most of the town of Restalline, Pennsylvania, he’s prepared to pledge his life, love, and fidelity to the woman who owns his heart. There’s only one thing missing—the bride.
Elise Pentani loves Michael Androvich truly and completely, but there’s a tiny piece of her that believes he’ll fall back into his “bad boy” ways. When a threat from his past visits her the night before she and Michael are to be married, Elise lets doubt rule and skips her own wedding.
Nursing a broken heart and determined to forget the woman he can’t forget, Michael heads to Magdalena, New York to secure a business deal for his family’s lumber company. He’s not prepared for the endless questions and inquisitive nature of the residents who remind him an awful lot of his hometown.
Just when Michael has gotten the town to accept the fact that he’s not talking about his past or the reason for his surly disposition, his ex-fiancée shows up with an apology he doesn’t want to hear and certainly doesn’t want to believe. So much for the town leaving him alone; everybody has an opinion and they’re all more than anxious to share it.
There’s no way the residents of Magdalena can ignore these two broken-hearted souls. Michael and Elise have “need help” and “belong together” stamped all over their sad faces. Add that to Pop Benito’s determined matchmaking skills and Lily Desantro’s clever curiosity, and this couple might just get that second chance…

Note: Michael Androvich and Elise Pentani are secondary characters in Simple Riches, Book Three of That Second Chance Series. The books in this series are standalone works that are tied together by the belief in the beauty of that second chance. Michael and Elise won’t be the only ones visiting A Family Affair’s Magdalena from That Second Chance Series.

A-Family-Affair-The-Promise-Amz-200x300
A Family Affair: The Promise Book 7
A lot has happened since readers left town in A Family Affair: Winter!

Bree Kinkaid is dealing with heartache and betrayal the only way she can—denial. Her friends can’t help her, she won’t listen to her parents, and she rejects offerings of support and sympathy from the town as she attempts to hold onto that magical life she wanted. But when a stranger shows up at Bree’s doorstep with information about her husband, she can’t pretend any longer.

And in case you were wondering what happened to Gloria Blacksworth’s notebook, it’s still resting in Nate Desantro’s desk drawer…but not for long. Gloria might be dead, but the notebook continues to leak distrust and ill will into the community, and someone’s got to stop it! There might be only one person in town equipped for the job—any guesses?

We’ve also got a new man in Magdalena, one badly in need of a second chance…

Grant Richot sprinted through life, a boy wonder with talent, intelligence, confidence, and charm. He never doubted the world awaited him, just as he never doubted the right woman would come into his life—but only when he was ready for her. Anyone before that was simply preparation for the one.

How wrong he was.

Years and a tragedy later, Grant arrives in Maggie Finnegan’s hometown of Magdalena, New York—broken, uncertain, and searching for that second chance with the woman he cast aside. But Maggie’s no longer naïve and impressionable; she’s a confident, competent widow with a child, who has more at risk than another broken heart…

Note: For a richer “A Family Affair” reading experience, make sure to read Pulling Home, Book One of That Second Chance series. It is the prequel to A Family Affair: The Promise, where you’ll learn Grant Richot’s story. Big, dark secrets about his family are revealed in this book, but that doesn’t mean he knows about them…but it also doesn’t mean the reader can’t know, right?!

A Family Affair: The Secret Book 8 (coming 1/5/2016)
Roman Ventori isn’t looking for a wife. He’s had one of those and it ended badly. He’s come back to Magdalena out of duty, not love for the town that drove him away with rumors and judgments.

Angie Sorrento is in Magdalena to do a job, not find a husband. She almost had one of those, until he dumped her days before the wedding.

Roman’s father has health problems and his last wish is to see his son settled with a wife, a child, a second chance at a life that doesn’t include city life and flashy women. There’s only one person in town who can make the impossible happen. Angelo “Pop” Benito, the Godfather of Magdalena, is the wiliest matchmaker in the Catskills and if he sets his mind to it, an old man might see his wish come true.

Oh, and remember Gloria Blacksworth’s notebook, the one filled with enough destruction to bring down Magdalena? Well, it’s causing trouble again, and this time the target is Miriam Desantro… Pop’s going to try to intervene, but he might be too late…

Excerpt
If Salvatore Ventori hadn’t been recovering from a heart attack, Angie would have shut down the man’s idea that his son would be the perfect choice to escort her through the Sal’s Market after hours. Roman Ventori belonged in Chicago, or staring back at her from the insides of a magazine cover, not standing outside his father’s grocery store, arms crossed over his broad chest, waiting. And not too happy about the waiting either. The pacing gave it away, back and forth like a trapped lion. He didn’t see her coming from the side parking lot as he began another round of pacing.

Angie made her way toward him, sucked in a deep breath and willed her voice to remain even. “Roman Ventori?” The man turned and stared, six-foot plus of muscle and annoyance zeroing in on her with eyes darker than ink. Those eyes widened when he recognized her, the mouth flattened, the brackets on either side, a deep slash.

“You.” He ran a hand through his hair, blew out a sigh. “I should have known.”

She matched his sigh, tilted her head to look up at him. Damn, but he was a tall one. “Should have known what?”

“That my old man would pull this. How much did he pay you?”

“What are you talking about?” The tabloids should get this charmer on tape. It would mark the end of Mr. Beautiful’s lovely persona. Angie guessed the man hadn’t wanted to come tonight. Too bad. She needed photos so she could do her job, and if the only way to get them was after closing time in the company of Sal’s son, then that’s what she’d do. “Why would your dad pay me?” she asked, determined to get an answer. But the man said nothing, merely unlocked the door and flicked on the lights, leaving Angie to follow, camera slung over her shoulder.

When they reached the customer service area, Roman Ventori turned to her, his massiveness dwarfing her breathing space and said, “My father paid you to get in my line of vision, didn’t he?”

“Line of vision?” Angie scrunched up her nose. “For what?”

He scowled, narrowed his gaze on her. “You know damn well for what. He had a heart attack and now he’s gotten it into his head that he wants to see me settled before he dies.”

“Settled.” Settled? As in married, with a family? No. No.

“Yeah, that’s what he said, and then he started dropping hints about this nice little Italian girl he’d met who’d come to town to make a miniature rendition of his store, said I should escort you around and see what I could see. Whatever that means.” He flipped on more lights, let out another sigh that sounded like pure disgust and continued, “Ignore whatever he told you. I am not looking for a girlfriend and I’m sure as hell not looking for a wife.”

“What?” Had he just said wife? Angie moved toward him, hands on hips, scowl on her face to show her equal disgust and said, “Mister, I am not looking for a boyfriend or a husband. I don’t even want a dog. You got that?” The nerve of some people. “I’ve come to this town to do a job, so I can get paid, period. Whatever issues you and your father have, are not my issues and you better damn well not make them mine. You got that?”

Those eyes narrowed, the jaw twitched, and damn if the mouth didn’t flip into a smile seconds before he said, “Got it.”

Angie crossed her arms over her chest, tipped her chin up to see his face and held her ground. “Do not confuse me with a groupie gold digger again.”

The smile spread. “Groupie gold digger?”

“Right.” She hid a smile. Now was not the time to let him see he could barrel through her anger and make her smile.

“I’ll keep that in mind.” He thrust out his hand. “Roman Ventori, collector of groupie gold diggers.”

Review: Just Can't Do Right

Just Can't Do Right Just Can't Do Right by Kennedee Devoe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In this 3rd book by Kennedee Devoe, we meet Gino Baptise, whose prison term brings about some strong lessons on infidelity, love and life. The author does a remarkable job of developing the character of Gino and the other men he meets in prison. Unlike the author's previous books, we get a strong insight into a male's perspective on relationships and why, sometimes, they do the things they do.

A thought provoking part of the story to me was when Kennedee was introduced into the book and the lessons she spoke of. If you have read her other books, you saw how she was a "loose cannon" but in this newest novel, you see how her experiences has shaped her into the woman she is today.

I would like to applaud the author on her growth in writing and as a person. It has been an interesting journey that she has taken readers on and I look forward to reading more of her works in the future.

When Kira finds herself tempted to touch will she remain faithful to her husband or yield to the desires of her flesh?

excerpt

When I rounded the corner Meena, my secretary, was standing in front of her desk smiling and waving at me. Her attentiveness and bright smile cut right into my investigation into why my marriage was beginning to fail.

“Hi, Meena. Did you miss me?” I asked, referring to the way she was waiting to greet me like a lap dog,

“Mrs. Seagram, you’re so funny,” she said, swiping her wispy brunette hair out of her eyes. “I’m so

excited to see you because I can’t wait to see the look on your face when you go into your office.”

“Ugh.” I groaned, letting my arms droop at my sides. “You didn’t redecorate again, did you?”

“No. While you were at lunch you received a delivery and it’s mighty extravagant. I hope that after I’ve

been married for ten years my husband still does things like Mr. Seagram.”

“Thank you, Meena. I’m sure it’s nothing out of the ordinary,” I said as I walked past her desk. I turned

the knob and my stomach dropped to my heels. On the other side of the door a tall medley of flowers

and fruit curled into a G clef awaited me. A smile spread across my face as I approached this massive

fruit salad structure. I fingered the petals of the black orchids and inspected the assortment of

fruits—pineapple chunks, mangoes, and strawberries covered in white chocolate. All of my favorite

things were neatly assembled on my desk. Mason must have thought there was another dog sniffing

around his backyard.

“Excuse me,” I said to Meena who was still standing in the doorway gawking at the flowers as I picked

up the phone and dialed Mason’s cell phone number.

He probably thought this massive floral arrangement would get me to join the choir and keep my

affections at home. I would have preferred some new shoes. Shoot, for a new pair of Fendi pumps I’d

churn out “I Go to the Rock” in a heartbeat and have them saints running up and down the aisle of our

church in a minute.

“Praise the Lord!” Mason shouted into the phone when he answered. Why did he have to be all

holy all the time?

“Hello, Mason.”

“What’s going on, my love? You usually don’t call me in the middle of the day.”

“You tell me what’s going on, Mason. Do you think that a little gallant gesture and some white chocolate

will get me to work on the record with your choir?”

“What are you talking about?”

“You know exactly what I’m talking about. The floral arrangement—”

“Floral arrangement?” he queried, cutting me off.

“If you thought that an oversized wreath would get me to sing with that little gospel choir of yours,

you’re wrong.”

“Kira, I did not send you any floral arrangement.”

Half listening to his spiel, I dug my hand into the center of the arrangement and removed the card.

Without your voice my music is all blues and no rhythm. ~Q

I read the message again and flashes of heat coursed through my fingers. His vulnerability was sexy.

Quincy McAdams had gone from a chemistry major to a music mogul and his life was still missing

something. The words on the card spoke louder to me than Mason until he shouted into the receiver,

“Well, where did the flowers come from? I will not ask again.”

Review: The Power of The P

The Power of The P The Power of The P by Syretta A. Walker
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is my first read by the author and I applaud her efforts. The storyline started off strong but as the story progressed, I became confused and found myself going back to re-read some sections. There are numerous characters in this story and they all are not well-developed.

The one character I did like was Allure as she had a rough life and wanted nothing more than a fresh start.

I think once readers gain clarity on each character’s purpose, this could easily be a five star read.

Review: Twisted Entrapment

Twisted Entrapment Twisted Entrapment by N'tyse
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In this third installment of the "Twisted" series, N' Tyse does not disappoint. All of your favorite characters are back (along with a few new ones) with so many twists and turns you will feel like you are on a roller coaster.

I have to say that Nadine has become my favorite character. This is a woman who has walked through hell with gasoline boots on and is still standing. Although there is a love triangle entangled in this story, it is not predictable. Each character is as well defined as they were in the original book: [[ASIN:1593093969 Twisted Seduction: A Novel (Twisted Series)]].

I would like to applaud the author on doing a great job on book 3. Most books cause a reader to lose interest as things become redundant after the second book but you have nailed it. I look forward to reading more from this author.

BLOG TOUR: Unlawful Desire by Chelle Bliss

Title: Unlawful Desire

Series: ALFA PI Book #2

Synopsis

No matter

how hard I tried to push her away, fate thrust us together again.

Screw relationships.

My motto: Hit it and quit it.

Simple worked. Feelings weren’t on the line, hearts

weren’t able to be broken,

and I could keep my life simple.

My friends told me to move on and find the “one,”

but I wasn’t ready to love again.

Until I met her.

A dirty-mouthed temptress with a killer body that

had me questioning everything.

I knew I could ruin her forever, but not without

losing myself.

I wouldn’t do it.

But Georgia Phillips was innocent, pure, and total

perfection.

I wouldn’t be the one to strip her bare and break her

heart.

I swore I’d never call another woman mine, but that

was before I almost lost her.

Warning: If you can't handle a cocky bad boy

or a badass chick with a dirty mouth,

this might not be the book for you.

Unlawful Desire Excerpt

She leaned back against the bar with her tits jutting out and her arms

crossed underneath. “What’s your problem with me? Did I do something to you, Frisco?”

Caught off guard by her question, my body jerked backward. “N-no,” I

stuttered.

She tapped her foot. “You ditched me, marched off when you heard

my age, and tonight, you seem less than happy that I’m here. What the fuck gives?”

I cleared my throat, trying to find my voice and a reasonable

explanation. “I don’t have anything against you.” I was in so much trouble.

“Let’s cut the shit, Frisco. I’m a big girl. What’s the problem? Would

you rather I leave?” Her body oozed attitude.

I cringed. I never wanted to hurt anyone, but I knew that I had hurt

her feelings. “No. Don’t go. I’m sorry. It’s just that Sunshine…” My chest tightened. “She’s trying to fix

us up.”

Georgia filled her cheeks with air before slowly exhaling. “Is that so

bad?” She narrowed her eyes. “If I’m not your type, it’s cool. But otherwise, what’s the issue? I

thought we had a nice time up until you left the party. I’m a big girl. Just be honest with me. I’m not

into playing games.”

I wanted to play games. Naked games that ended with us against a

wall, tangled together like we’d played the sexiest game of Twister.
